L&I certifies plumbers and says only L&I-certified plumbers can legally perform plumbing work on someone else's property, while property owners may do their own plumbing work on property they own.

Electrical: Washington State Department of Labor & Industries

L&I says electrical contracting businesses are licensed and bonded and provide certified electricians who have passed an examination to perform electrical work.
