The state sales tax rate in Ohio is 5.75%.
Counties and regional transit authorities can add sales tax in multiples of 0.05%, up to 3%, and the combined state, local and transit rate cannot exceed 8.75%. Counties and transit authorities can change rates only at the start of a calendar quarter.

The state table gives separate rates for the parts of Columbus that lie in Delaware County (8.00%) and Fairfield County (7.75%), so a Columbus address in Fairfield County is taxed at 7.75% rather than the 8.00% shown for Franklin County.
